We’re hiring a Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Engineer at our Noida facility, and we’re looking for someone with 3 to 4 years of experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an SMT Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and operating SMT machinery including Pick-and-Place machines, Reflow Ovens, and AOI systems.
  • Optimizing process parameters to improve yields, reduce defects, and increase throughput.
  • Driving root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for process and equipment-related issues.
  • Collaborating on NPI (New Product Introduction) initiatives and supporting first article builds.
  • Maintaining preventive maintenance schedules and ensuring uptime of SMT equipment.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to align on production targets and quality expectations.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re searching for an engineer who not only understands SMT but also brings a mindset of continuous improvement and quality-first thinking.

Must-Haves:

  • 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in SMT processes within the EMS industry.
  • Strong understanding of SMT equipment (Yamaha, Fuji, Juki, Panasonic, or similar).
  • Knowledge of IPC standards and ESD compliance.
  • Analytical thinking and solid troubleshooting skills.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with SPI, AOI, and X-ray inspection systems.
  • Exposure to MES or ERP systems.
  • Ability to handle pressure and multitask in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot SMT machines (e.g., Pick and Place, Reflow Ovens, Screen Printers, AOI).
  • Monitor and improve SMT process parameters for yield enhancement and defect reduction.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for SMT-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) activities, including stencil design review, DFM checks, and first article inspection.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and calibration of SMT equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Production, and R&D to ensure smooth operations.

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma or B.Tech in Electronics or related field.
  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in SMT processes within the EMS industry.
  • Proficiency with SMT equipment (Fuji, Yamaha, Juki, Panasonic or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of IPC standards and ESD practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SPI, AOI, and X-ray inspection systems.
  • Familiarity with MES/ERP systems.
